Announcements: Labor Essay Contest - sponsored by the Alabama Community Action Program Council is currently being held. The topics are: "How Organized Labor Benefits Alabama" or "What Are the Legal Rights in Alabama to Establish a Union?" Deadline for the essays: February 28th. If you are interested in participating and want more information, contact Mrs. Cunningham. Alabama State University is holding its Spring 2005 Connection Day on January 22nd. You will be able to tour the campus, meet the faculty and see a basketball game. If you are interested, see the poster outside Mrs. Cunningham's office for details. Juniors need to begin thinking about the college they plan to attend, touring campuses is a great way to help you in making the decision on which college to atttend. Jacksonville State University will be holding Spring Preview Days on Saturday February 19th and Saturday March 12th. Call 1-800-231-5291 to register for this event. Juniors need to begin looking at the college information located under Counselor. Information and web sites are provided on the page to help you in beginning the choice of colleges you would like to attend after you graduate. Juniors need to be taking the ACT this year. See the ACT information on the Counselor's page for more information. Dates of testing and registration are located on the Calendar. ACT Prep Classes will be held at Houston Academy on January 18th, 22nd & 27th; February 1st and 8th. See the announcement page for details. |
